Rules
2012 MAYLA Boys Youth Lacrosse Rules Modifications:
Milwaukee Area Youth Lacrosse Association, Inc. (MAYLA) has made the following exceptions to the Wisconsin Lacrosse Federation (WLF) and National Federation of State High School (NFHS) and US Lacrosse Youth Council Boys Rules.
- Bantam and Junior - if there is a 4 or more goal advantage, the losing team has the option of a face off or getting possession of the ball at face off X. If the coach says nothing, the default ruling is the losing team gets possession.
- Bantam - No long sticks are allowed as well as no stick is to be taller than the player. Stick checking is allowed.
- No overtime at any youth level. - All games will end in a tie.
- 20/10 second counts will only be used at the Senior level.
- Junior and Bantam - All one handed checks will be deemed a slash no mater how hard or soft the contact is.
- Take out checks are prohibited. - This was defined at the coaches meeting as "A player being taken off his feet through body contact when the checking player has taken at least one step to close a gap between players."
